Personally speaking, Ecobuild had a very international flavour this year. I had meetings with Green Build council members and businesses from Belgium, Greece, Hungary and Spain. It was great to exchange ideas and views with industry colleagues and discuss future business opportunities, of course.
The seminars were filled with information on sustainability in practice and some of the results were truly impressive. The University of Leicester Passivhaus house building totally uncompromised by the faraday cage room with its permanently set 20 degrees, the Passivhaus village in Hereford with 35 units sold off plan. That’s the kind of sustainability progress that I like to hear.
The BRE stand was very welcoming and it was nice to see the Home Quality Mark being unveiled. Thank you, Terence for inviting us to the Belgium green build reception at The Crystal, pictured above with its BREEAM AND LEED certifications. I so agree, why have one when you can have both!
