Sustainability Reports and Consultancy
EAL carry out sustainability reports and consultancy working closely for and with architects. Our work includes advising on energy efficiency, renewable technologies and building regulation compliance.
It is advantageous to assess the various options open at the design stage in order to find the most suitable and cost effective routes.
EAL work with architects and developers at design stage to ensure that not only are building regulations complied with but the design incorporates sustainability and that they clients needs are met.
We have worked on various projects from advising of suitable technologies on home, flats, care homes, commercial offices, and retail outlets.
Energy Statements/Sustainability Reports
An energy statement is required by many councils and is a pre-condition on planning permission being granted. The statement shows the CO2 emissions and energy consumption for the design of a project and provides the building's carbon strategy and fabric efficiency.
This energy statement will include a sustainability statement which will evaluate the environmental impact of a design and analyse the project's green strategy to reduce the carbon footprint as well as any renewables that may be used. The Sustainability statement will used in conjunction with the feasibility report as part of the overall energy statement.
Sustainability Report
A Feasibility Study is normally carried out at the design stage and will consider the various options available to use renewable technologies. This is usually done to comply with planning requirements to ensure the target footprint required is met.
The study will consider the location and orientation of a build as well as the cost and practical implications. A payback breakdown will be provided and various other financial incentives that are available like the Feed in Tarrif and Renewable Heat Incentive.
