Thermal Bridging, PSI and y Value

What are they?

Thermal Bridging (Psi) also known as a Y Value or Ψ Values was introduced to new Part L 2014 Building Regulations for new buildings. It focuses on the heat loss of the buildings thermal bridge junctions and is an essential element of the SAP calculations.

Why are they necessary?

These calculations can be the difference in the Pass or Fail of your SAPs.

How to get them?

The most cost effective  and quickest solution is to supply us the measured junction lengths for each flat or house (see diagram below) together with a window schedule  and we will do the rest. Or simply send us all your plans and we will do it all for you.
